What happens when one person in the relationship dies or becomes sick and their partner has no say in the funeral, personal processions, etc? What then? Does a law binding piece of paper matter then?

    There’s no tax advantage for being a straight married couple, by the way. Speaking as a married person.

    Yeah, that’s the same thing my parents have said. Simpler to file (my dad says) as a couple, but other than that…nothing.
